First up, Kieron would quite like to play with us over summer. At the moment, that would give us 9, which is doable, but sub-optimal. So, questions: - How happy/unhappy would people be playing with 9? - How eager are people to play over summer (I presume everyone is quite eager - I don't remember getting a "may as well" vibe from anyone :P)? - Are people going to be missing any games that they know of? I know I'll be missing several at the start of the season (could be as many as 5, depending on when the season starts). If we get really lucky, people's "I'll be missing X games" will line up nicely. ;P Obvs I'll have to check with Kieran to see how many games he'll be missing (likely to be some, if winter is any indication). If people could let me know ASAP, that would be great. I need to let Kieron know what's going on so he can try to make other arrangements if necessary. Secondly, does anyone yet know what the deal is with Summer registration? I know Alwyn said he was going to look a what the deal was after our last game, but I haven't heard anything so I assume that didn't happen? Anyway, someone [reliable :P] who isn't me (since I'll proably be away at the season start) really needs to sort rego out RSN. Or at the very least find out when we need to register by. And finally, congratulations to Andrew and Chris for making All Stars. ;) Chas From acolyte at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au Mon Sep 6 09:36:01 2010 From: acolyte at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au (Andrew Bailey) Date: Mon, 6 Sep 2010 09:36:01 +0800 Subject: [UCCBball] Assorted newxt season stuff In-Reply-To: References: <20090308104936.16331j36lg0gfk8w@secure.ucc.asn.au> <20100721080131.GA23283@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> <20100729011039.GA29509@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> Message-ID: <20100906013601.GA24192@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> Ok, I'd kind of be unhappy with 9 players. Form has been submitted, and nonimation fee paid by Andrew. Season fees will be $225 per team, and must be paid before our third game. Game fees are $48 per team per game. Our players will be as follows: Me (Chas) Dave Kieron (Gilbert) Kieran (Unknown) Oliver Andrew James Alwyn Tommo So, 9 players all up. However, people are likely to be missing games throughout, and I suspect there will be people who will be happy to sit out a few here and there. Also, Kieron is recovering from injury, so he'll probably be happy with a bit of bench time. When we do actually have 9, we'll just have to be careful with our subs, and play at a higher tempo. ;P However, this does mean that we should be _really_ communicative regarding role calls. I would suggest that, where possible, people have emailed the list regarding whether they intend to play that week by, say, Wednesday (if not earlier), giving people who might like to sit out the week plenty of time to arrange other activities. On that note, as I have previously said, I will be out of the country for all of October, and Kieran will be missing the first two games (9th, 16th). So those can be taken into account. Ooh, also, I know Kieron is not on the list, I'm pretty sure Kieran isn't either, and I don't think Oliver has seen the last few emails. So can someone make sure that those people are informed as to game times (including when the season starts - I think it's the 9th?). I'll make sure someone has Kieran's mobile number. That is all I can think of. See you all in November. :) Chas From acolyte at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au Wed Sep 29 11:23:10 2010 From: acolyte at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au (Andrew Bailey) Date: Wed, 29 Sep 2010 11:23:10 +0800 Subject: [UCCBball] Summer comp stuff In-Reply-To: References: <20090308104936.16331j36lg0gfk8w@secure.ucc.asn.au> <20100721080131.GA23283@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> <20100729011039.GA29509@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> <20100909012343.GB4421@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> <20100910095327.GE4421@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> Message-ID: <20100929032310.GA17538@ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au> I have mobile numbers for everyone so I will email here and text people with game times when I know them. Are the Game fees team based or is it player based? I thought it was a fee per player. I'll probably pay the remaining nomination fee during the first week. Does anyone want to do some training at some point. I've been insanely busy so I haven't really chased up a venue. But I'd be interested but we'd need some consistent numbers and an idea of when.
