Also Round 1 of UCC::Progcomp is scheduled for Saturday the 25th. If you want to work on either of these, you should come to UCC this Saturday. If anyone is actually interested, I can go through UCC::Progcomp. I'll be appearing around lunch time. I'm not sure if I'm still doored, due to carefully worded emails about technicalities. But if anyone complains, I'll be in the loft. For this round you must submit the source code and build instructions for a single threaded application that will build and run on 64bit GNU/Linux Debian 6 "Squeeze". The deadline is 10:00pm, but if you submit earlier I am more likely to help debug your code if it doesn't compile/run for whatever reason. Submission is via email to matches@ with attachment(s). With the 4.5 months you've had to work on progcomp, I expect to be flooded with entries! If you don't know where to start, email me, or read this: http://progcomp.ucc.asn.au/2013/web/agent_python.html Good luck, [SZM] From matches at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au Wed May 22 21:08:39 2013 From: matches at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au (Sam Moore) Date: Wed, 22 May 2013 21:08:39 +0800 (WST) Subject: [UCC::ProgComp] Progcomp Round 1 Postponed Message-ID: Round 1 was clearly badly scheduled, as many people have assignments, tests, and then exams to worry about. It's also clear to me that this year's Progcomp is not a very popular event, and perhaps imposes unrealistic expectations on people. If anyone has reasonable suggestions for an alternative competition or programming related event, I would be happy to implement it. Otherwise, I'll run Round 1 on the 22nd of June. I will organise a few weekends before then to introduce people to the competition more gently. [SZM]
