If its not safe to run i dont think we should be using it, I have seen projectors catch on fire a few times due to people using the globes longer than recommended.. It wouldn't be safe to use IMO if we dont know how long is on the bulb<br>

Resetting it is like turning back the odometer on your car, It looks like it works but will eventually explode/break down. The timers are there for a reason, And that reason is not to be ignored.<div><div></div><div class="h5">

Turned out the problem was just a missing cover. The projector has a sensor<br>
for this, which when the cover is missing, won't allow the projector to<br>
start. It works now. Some of us were chatting in the clubroom about the<br>
possibility of members being able to borrow the projectors for a small fee,<br>
so if there were multiple projectors this could perhaps work.<br>

Also, resetting the timer is kinda dangerous, because they do explode<br>
and spew out nasty chemicals if misused (as anyone who went to a PLUG<br>
seminar a few months ago can attest). The timer is a safety thing.<br>

If the lamp blew up or expired it's likely the projector itself is ok,<br>
if you can find a replacement lamp. Alternately, I've got a few<br>
projectors as part of that computer angels shipment that UCC can have,<br>
though they are low-res (800x600 or possibly some 1024x768 ones).<br>
