Re: Unisfa wireless. (@ Nick and others)
The Unisfa wireless is unrelated to deepthought.
UCC will at some stage (with the possible financial support of
unisfa?)
Install a extra wifi access point in the Unifa clubroom, for the use
of UCC members.
It's just a matter of improving the normal ucc wifi network,
coverage.
Not a new network.
Not giving access to non-UCC members.
Hope that clears things up

Re: Unisfa changine deepthough to windows.
Unisfa owns deepthought. It is their physical machine.
Unisfa pays $20 (or was it $25/year for membership).
Plenty of UCC members come in to UCC and plug there laptops into the
hub next to phosphorous.
This is no different.
I doubt unisfa;s traffic will increase substantially. Not to the
point that we have to care.
Unisfa is still subject to the normal network policy which says we
reserve the right to charge them for "Unreasonable use".

Re: Unisfa installing Windows making them no longer able to receive
support from UCC. (@bob)
Ie, Voiding the UCC SLA (Service Level Agreement), UCC has no SLA!
Any UCCan helping out with deepthought has never been under any
influence of UCC to do so.

I, as a wheel member, volunteer personally handle any issues arising
from Unisfa changing their OS.
I can't actually see anything going wrong. but if it does I'll fix
it.
To do so, i might bug other people, but that is not becuase Unisfa
deserves extra special support,
but because I want to upskill myself.
