That was probably the same one I was playing with back at the borg.  Its
a Siemens GSM modem with a serial interface.  You talk AT commands down
the wire to it to send and receive SMS messages - it came with nice PDF
reference manual.  Alas, I can't remember the model number.

Last time I looked one of the old ericsson mumble888 phones were the
best option - they have an optional plain old serial adapter and all
the ericsson's do AT.
