Hello,

As some of you may have noticed I have not been around much in the last few
months. Sorry, but I have been quite busy (from finishing up experiments,
to writing thesis, to looking for jobs, to working far too many hours for
far too little money, to now). The year is pretty much over, and it hasn't
been all that I expected. However, we HAVE had quite a few LANages, a good
dinner, a fizzled camp and a yet to be organised free beer and pizza
night. Something to look forward to in the not to distant future (exact
date unknown to me) is the power upgrade and room refit for the UCC
clubroom. Be sure to turn up and make your mark (literally).

If anyone has any suggestions on how we could have done things better,
other things to do, things we did right, etc. etc. don't hesitated to email
me/committee (preferably committee, but if you don't like them then me...
and who doesn't like me? ;-/). Anyway I'm rambling so I'll just shut up
and say that UCC is _your_ club, so if you want better services, machines,
room, snacks, drinks, events then you can have them. The only caveat to
that is that _you_ have to at least tell someone that you would like them
:). If you really want something then the best way to make it happen is to
run for committee, turn up to committee meetings, badger committee, or for
those that REALLY want it done: organise it yourself.

Anyway, enough drunken ramblings... hope to see you next year.

Anil Sharma
UCC President, 2001-2002.
