Just going to highlight a couple of plays in the first YouTube linked.
(Yes, they feature me scoring)
13:00 I like this as an alternate setup. In the course of getting into
offence we end up with 2 R-Wings. Often our 2nd R-Wing just cuts across and
ends up at either L-Slot or L-Wing by crossing behind the R-Slot ball
carrier... this gives us our desired spacing, but without creating any
options or giving the defence anything to think about.
In this example, R-Wing moves down to the short corner, vacating the R-Wing
so the 2nd R-Wing can fill it. The short corner can then cut across to the
L-Wing, which restores our desired spacing, whilst actually giving the
defence something to think about.... Or, in this instance I cut back across
the baseline and get an open jumper from the short corner.
19:02 They really load up on the left. Alywyn's (R-Slot?) probably a bit
too central (should have gone further right when I dribbled back high).
Chas (R-Wing) v-cuts, but Alwyn passes it back to me (L-Slot). Skip pass
from L-Slot to R-Wing, L-slot cuts across to R-short-corner, receives the
pass from the wing. Open short range jumper.
We should probably consider adding this to the offence. I don't think we
really have a rule for who cuts on a skip-pass, but the passer cutting
through everyone to the open spot on the strong-side is likely to result in
good things. The alternative would be for the nearest slot to cut as if
they made the pass, but I think the variety in cuts, and consistency of "if
you pass, you make the cut", will prove better, its also harder to defend.
Other plays I like
3:40 Nice pass from R-Wing to high post for an open shot. I like the
spacing here.
4:20 This is a great inbound pass, pity I got blocked
5:30 Nice entry pass and a good example of what our primary option on
offense is meant to do
6:05 Some good patience and ball movement after 2 drives get aborted.
10:05 Good entry into high post with supporting cut leading to a good
outcome
