I get the most useful results with:

-prom-env aapl,debug=1000000 -serial stdio

Of note:
- the case of aapl,debug seems to be important
- the 1000000 flag means "Enable the Nanokernel debugger”
- the interactive NK debugger appears on the console :D (I’ve only ever accessed it by hacking the NK to work with a userspace app)
