[CDG5] LocalTalk thoughts

So a friend and I have been taking a stab at trying to figure out how
to make a LocalTalk bridge with the least hardware and fewest
soldering burns.  After learning all the sordid details of the Z8530
chip, FM0 encoding, SDLC, RS-422 and a lot of other voodoo, it
occurred to me that a lot of this pain could be saved if I accepted
that my connection was going to be a short cable and that it was going
to be a point-to-point connection.  Which leads me to my question to
you all:

Have any of you looked at any of the "ltlk" resources and any of the
code involved?
