[CDG5] Accessing resource fork on modern mac OS

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a way to access the legacy resource fork from a recent
macOS (10.13.6). I already know how to open the raw fork for reading and
writing. Unfortunately, dealing with the raw binary data in the absence of
the resource manager isn't trivial.

Is there any library that is capable of manipulating resource forks without
the need for the classic MacOS/Resource Manager?
A convenient Python API would be great!

Thanks in advance!
Max
