There are a number of me and my cohorts who try to get together relatively regularly to play various LAN games. Our latest focus is, of course, BAttlefield 2. Due to some of the more severe anti-piracy policies of EA games, they've chosen not to implement a significant Co-op version of the game, which means that our old plan of 4 or 5 of us playing at a LAN against a bunch of bots is no longer much of an option. Which brings me to my point - the obvious solution is to get more than 10 people together to play at once. I wonder whether you guys would have any LANs planned in the near future, or whether we could encourage you to hold one (and the mid-year break is a prime opportunity). Alternatively, if I were to organise a LAN of my own, do you think any of your members might be interested in attending? Numbers are the key I think........... I wonder whether you guys would have any > LANs planned in the near future, or whether we could encourage you to hold > one (and the mid-year break is a prime opportunity). Alternatively, if I > were to organise a LAN of my own, do you think any of your members might > be interested in attending? Numbers are the key I think........... We actually have an LAN scheduled for Saturday 9th July, however it's an intervarsity LAN with people from Murdoch and ECU as well, and so it's being held at Murdoch uni. Full details and directions are at http://ucc.asn.au/LAN-9thJuly2005.txt so feel free to turn up. If you are organising a LAN of your own, I know a few of our members are interested in "a LAN where we can play drunk" which isn't possible on campus due to licensing regulations, so do let us know. > Other games we're currently playing include Unreal 2003 (of course), Star > Wars Battlefront, Star Wars Republic Commando, Flat-Out (Hilarious, I > assure you) and a few others....... Call of Duty (the expansion) and Enemy Territory are some favorites, but I suspect that there will be enough numbers to get a game of whatever you want going. -- # TRS-80 trs80(a)ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au #/ "Otherwise Bub here will do \ # UCC Wheel Member http://trs80.ucc.asn.au/ #| what squirrels do best | [ "There's nobody getting rich writing ]| -- Collect and hide your | [ software that I know of" -- Bill Gates, 1980 ]\ nuts." -- Acid Reflux #231 / From Toby at zigno.com Thu Jun 30 16:23:19 2005 From: Toby at zigno.com (Ivan) Date: Thu Jun 30 16:21:40 2005 Subject: [committee] Track this Microcap Issue Message-ID: <7983573859.10961117556@stafrvpn02.suez-env.com> Big news expected.
