I'm playing with it on Cybium. The current problems;

* the software updates either go out to the internet to get, or from a
  local network share. I haven't figured out how to get it to use the
  UWA mirror directly

* it doesn't "grok" authenticated proxies.

The solutions?

* Mirror the F-Prot directory from ftp.uwa.edu.au over to manbo, export
  via SMB, configure F-Prot to like that;
* Setup a proxy server somewhere which F-Prot has access to, set ACLs up
  to specifically allow just virus updates and disallow the rest.

Other than that, the software seems to work fine. Which is the way its
meant to be. :)
