As has been mentioned informally, I've been thinking about organising our
next round of merchandise - polo shirts - in line with my election promise
of focusing on club promotion.

These have the advantage over t-shirts that (hopefully) older guard will
want to buy them and you can wear them to many workplaces (not everyone
can get away with t-shirts and jeans).

In terms of style, I suggested a black shirt with a white embroidered UCC
Sun-style logo (like the 2002 shirts) over the left pocket. [PXY]
suggested the reverse colours.

I got a few rough quotations, and the best by far was from Aussie Gold,
who have done our t-shirts over the last few years.

There is a $65 setup fee, and embroidery is $4.75/shirt. The shirts
themselves come in at $12.15 each for white and $14.15 each for black. For
a simple design like ours there will probably (p<0.05) not be a charge to
change between colours.

These numbers are based on an order of fifty shirts or more, which I think
is an achievable goal. This means the final cost of white shirts is
$18.50, and black shirts $20.50. We could order 25 of each and sell them
at $20, or try to make a bit of a profit at $25.

If I can get a committee go-ahead (we'll need to outlay about $1000), I'll
do up a design and a preorder page.
