Hi Steve,
Many years ago (1998/1999), we used to be members of O'Grady's
Powerlist, and I recall you responding to a couple of my emails back
then, so I hope you don't mind me writing to you again.
I understand that you will be in Perth Western Australia in mid
october this year for the Leading Lights Conference. While you are in
Australia, I would like to extend an invitation for you to visit The
University of Western Australia's University Computer Club (
www.ucc.asn.au ).
The University Computer Club is home to many enthusiastic tinkerers.
On a given night during semester, people can be found doing everything
from playing computer games, to reworking SMT circuit boards and
revitalizing old systems. The UCC maintains a club room with a
variety of systems running Linux, Windows, Solaris and MacOSX, as well
as maintaining a number of BeBoxes, Nextstations and other exotic
hardware. I think there's even an Apple IIc around somewhere.
The University is located approximately 10 minutes drive from the
convention centre, and if you think you may have time in your
schedule, we would really welcome your visit. Please get in touch and
we can make appropriate arrangements. If you do not have time in your
schedule here to arrange a visit, we hope you enjoy your stay in
Perth.
Kind Regards,
--
