Dan,
This is something that has sightly bothered me for a while :) [putting the
cans in the yellow bins, aw I'm used to keeping cans and paper separate)
The only issue I see with this idea is the location of this recycling
point. Given our location, getting to the ref area (espeically when
hefting a full bin of crushed cans) is a trek.
Would there be another bin in the catering carpark where the cans are
finally collected from? (If not, I think we can convince our memebers to
be less lazy and take the bin to the ref)

Essentially, we're trying to separate out some of our recycling from the usual yellow co-mingled recycling bins. This has both an environmental bonus as less energy is required to sort the recycling and a financial bonus for the Guild/University as we can receive payment or discounts on our waste service providers - essentially meaning there's more money for other things like clubs.

As the UCC is one of the greatest contributor of empty aluminium cans on campus, would it please be possible to arrange for those cans to be placed in the aluminium can bin? If it is more convenient for yourselves, we'd be happy if you brought the bins to the Enviro Department to put them in every week or so.
