Hi all,
As you may know, the UCC now has an Oculus Rift Dev Kit. There are a
couple of rules that need to be followed, but firstly: club members should
always allowed be encouraged to use the rift (barring the others). The
Rift will be kept in the tool cupboard (next to the workbench), so you need to use the code to
get in.
If someone wants to use the Rift, it has to stay within the clubroom, and
while it's out, it is the Door member who got it out's responsibility.
It's your responsibility to return it to the tool cupboard, with all the
cables and stuff, when it's no longer being used. If you have to leave
before the person is finished using the Rift, you should, a) give
responsibility of the Rift to another present Door members (making sure
they agree and know it's now their responsibility), or b) return it to the
tool cupboard.
If you are the only door member in the room, you can't use it, mainly
because you're effectively blind to everything while you're wearing it
(putting it on for one second to calibrate it should be fine, but no
more).
This also means that it's now much more important that the tool cupboard
is locked when not in use, particularly when the clubroom is closing.
Thanks,
Erin
