sk0pe (being Pradyumm, being [VIJ]), is being wrong.
And will hopefully understand why when not a fresher.
or maybe through some form of education which I shall now attempt to
provide.

This is vaguely resonable and was brought up by a fresher 3 meetings ago
anyway. (possible [VIJ] i don't recall).
Shirts in general:
Personally I think it is too soon, we did one early last year? which and
that was too soon after the last one for some of out members (ie me) who
got one the previous time around.
Perhaps at the end of the year.
I don't think a compention is a good idea, because that could end up
with us having a shirt that wasn't suitable for wearing to a place of work.
and that is one of the great things about the UCC shirt from the last
two printings.
They look professional.
Re:Camp:
The Guilds prefered supplier for t-shirts doesn't do runs of less than 50.
I don't think we go through them for polos though -- how ever polos are
much more expensive than the screen printed ones you might get from some
camp.
At most 50 people will go the camp.
We could only do Camp T-shirts if everyone got one then.
Or if we went though another provider, in which case they would be
expensive.
> sk0pe : OCM and Door to be more diligent on dialy bin emptying, in addition to regular mmembers, possibly even door peopel who don't assist?
Or not.
It is not the duty of OCMs to empty the bin.
You are correct that it is the duty of door members to see the bin is
emptied.
(Wether themselves or through convincing someone else to do it.)
The committee is not going to encourage door members to pick a person at
random and say: "You, if you do not empty the bin you will be doored."
That is not reasonable.
People who won't help are normally busy.
Dooring people is for serious things.
- Like physcally harming or risking harm to another member (I know of
people being doored for this three times. Varying from people throwing
stuff, to getting in a serious argument etc).
- Disturbing everyone in the clubroom (normally by repeatedly shouting
or screaming at games)
- Violating Rules central to the Objects of the club (I don't think
its been done but people have been threated with dooring unless they
give up a computer they are playing games on so someoen can do work.)
(BTW I have looked through the records of dooring (it actually only
started being done offically, not that long ago. The year i started is
the first time it is mentioned in minutes.))
> sk0pe : Door to check and fill up vending machine, Treasurer and Committee are not the only people that can do it.
Actually, you will find that Door members can't trivially fill the snack
machine.
(idk if we have merged door and coke yet? was that done? I thought that
would have come up at a General Meeting, it is vaguely a big deal.)
Coke members can't fill the machine without the key.
The key is not accessable to everyone, it is in the Machine Room, which
only wheel members have the key for.
I believe the Treasurer also has one.
So you will find that in seious way it *is* only the treasurer (and rest
of committee) who can do it.
> Handing out Door rights like candy without making use of members seems counterintuitive.
Out Door members do do stuff.
The ensure the room is hospitable.
They make sure our stuff doesn't get stolen.
They come to clean ups.
Out coke members (who may have been merged with door?)
Do stuff,
Many go on snack runs.
All put money onto peoples accounts.
> sk0pe : Possibly get meeting with Mitch and possibly Andrew and Chris McDonald in terms of gutting CSSC as they are shit club and replacing them with a branch of UCC. TTo make them feel happy about them give them power over their branch but make them all below executive?
No.
They have nothing we want. They do different things to us.
They are a school socitiety and act much like a faculty society. (I
don't think they are SOC affilated. They are affilated with the School
of Computer Sciece. CSSE. )
There Objectives is to look out for Comp Sci Students.
That is why they have positions on there committee for a male and female
1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year rep etc
and a Post Grad Rep. and all kinds of weird positions (there committee
can be truely huge, like any Fac Soc)
Our objective is the Advancement of Computer Science.
We aren't looking out for students, we are looking out for the field.
It is for example within the scope of CSSC to go to the school of
computer science and lobby them to upgrade the computers in the labs
(prob won't work, but it is reasonable for them to try).
Doing that would not be reasonable for us to do. We might on behalf of
our members poke the guild to poke the uni about it.
They run sausage sizzles like every week for there members. We don't
care about that.
They are a shit club full of shit people, but thats fine cause we don't
have to interact with them. (They seem to have lost our phone number).
People we don't like can go over there.
Infact historically that has occured.
If we merged with them we would have to interact with them.
They have a tiny clubroom, that is negotated entirely seperately from
how ours is (because as a school society they negotate with the school.
As a SOC affilated club we negotate with the Guild).
They no longer seem to have a website, I beleive that is because they
stopped paying us to host it for them.
> To make them feel happy about them
> give them power over their branch but make them all below executive?
You understand that that kinda change (and indeed any kind of true merge
rather than us swallowing someone whole) would require changing out
constiution.
which is a heavily involved multi-month project, as we are incorperated.
Also if there club is not happy about it (which if they have maintained
the historical anomisity between our clubs) it won't happen.
it would have to go through a general meeting, and would require a
greater majority (like 2/3rds).
This would only go through if there club has really gone down.
In which case let them fall.
People can just join UCC to get all UCC benifits.
If people want CSSC benifits (sausage sizzle) they can joine CSSC, it is
very cheap compaired to UCC.
