So I was talking to Ewan MacLeod.

He is also a former UCCan and was on Door .
(He is also a former Unisfa President and Unigames Gatekeeper.)

Frames:
Hey Ewan, people (well 2 people) are talking about UCC merging with
CSSC. You know the history of why CSSC is not UCC, right?

Ewan:
Ultimately, they have 2 very different sets of members
UCC is computer enthusiasts
Cssc is comp sci students
...
Ultimately, the interests of the two clubs are completely separate
Cssc is the uec of comp sci
We modelled the committee off the uec one
It supports all CS students
Many/most CS students do NOT want to be UCC members.
They aren't interested the things that UCC members are
There is a large cross section
But Cssc covers the people that don't want to be UCC members
Cssc privides educational representation as well
It's the go-between between students and teachers
If you want anonymous feedback to a teacher, talk to Cssc

UCC does computer events. The biggest event of the first year of Cssc
was a screening of matrix reloaded

The best point to make AGAINST it is:
Two clubs means 2 lots of guild free money.
Cssc SHOULD also be getting education council grants too (unlike UCC)
And, there's nothing stopping UCC and Cssc from doing a shitload of
joint events.

So that is some history/club differences for you.
