Dear Committee,

This is my late apologies for cleanup, I was going to attend, but I 
received work for the day. As a struggling student I really need the 
money and literally cannot afford to come to cleanup. I sincerely 
apologise and hope I can make it to the next one to serve the glorious 
motherland. If my absence displeases you, I hope this poem will cheer 
you up:

Roses are red
Clean-ups are blue
I shan't attend
I've work to do
