SHELL'S WOMEN SHARE THEIR STORIES 

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8, 2017, Shell continues to forge ahead in its commitment to gender balance. Having achieved its objective of 20% senior leadership roles being held by women, the company is now looking ahead to the next milestone. 

For the third year running, Shell has retained its place in the Times Top 50 Employers for Women, which is a feat to be proud of. However, we know there is still a way to go before true gender balance is achieved - and that’s an issue Shell is dedicated to addressing. 

Want to know what it's like for women in Shell careers?
Our female colleagues are part of our DNA, so to celebrate International Women’s Day this year, we asked women across the global Shell family - from different career stages and in completely different day-to-day roles - to share photo stories of their daily lives, their proud achievements and their hopes for the future with us.

		 Katie's story 
Engineer Katie Clasen joined Shell after seeing at a young age that we shared her values. Now in hydroprocessing, she has a voice in the conversation about the world’s energy future and she's inspiring tomorrow's female engineers.

"I needed a job after graduation; Shell gave me a career." Singapore-based HR Business Partner Cherie Lew came through Shell's Graduate Programme and feels the company's mentors have given her the foundation on which to build her success.

Maggie van't Hoff, VP IT Transformation and Value, is a champion of inclusivity in Shell. She's managed IT for 43,000 Retail sites globally. She was awarded CIO of the Year and as a mother she delivers it all part-time.
