About our Graduate Program
The Department of Jobs and Small Business 2019 Graduate Program is a ten-month program that gives you the opportunity to work in a range of areas within the Department, be challenged, and access a large range of learning and development opportunities. Our graduates are also be part of a great social club that organises a range of fundraising events such as happy hours, bake sales, and a trivia night, so you will be connected with lots of people within the Department in no time!

Some extra benefits that we offer our graduates include a permanent position with the Department on completion of the program, a competitive salary, generous leave entitlements, and flexible working conditions. We also provide a generous relocation assistance package for those located outside of Canberra (which also includes up to 21 nights' temporary accommodation).

Disciplines
We recruit graduates in five disciplines - generalist, ICT, economics, legal, and quantitative analysis.

Recruitment Process
At the Department of Jobs and Small Business, we understand how daunting graduate recruitment processes can be so we have tried to make it as comfortable and personable as possible. At the end of the day, we want you to perform your best so we get to see your full potential.

Our simple process includes a one page pitch application, followed by an assessment centre (interview and written task), and then our offers are made. That's right - no psychometric assessment, no personality testing, and no group assessment!
