A proposito, I think an apology to Melissa may be warranted. She said, on Discord, regarding her recent membership resignation e-mail:
[10:14 PM] melissa: Except when I offered to leave if my own accord on Tuesday, that wasn’t good enough and it was still necessary to ban me from the clubroom?
[...]
[10:16 PM] melissa: I did this after asking Frekk - IF I resign will the motion to be ban me be removed and that will be the end of the issue? He said yes, but instead the motion somehow changed to be accepting my resignation AND THEN BANNING ME.
[...]
[10:23 PM] melissa: James told me that accepting my resignation and then banning me was still in the agenda even though I had resigned. In response I said I had resigned under false pretences and he accepted my request to rescind my resignation.
[10:24 PM] melissa: So yeah, I was happy to walk away from this if it had not come after me.
(Soon after, it was clarified that the motion was, from the start, regarding both membership and a ban.)
I spoke to Grace about it (given that, as secretary, she manages the agenda), and she told me that Frekk did not contact her to remove the item from the agenda, and also that neither Frekk nor anyone else on committee attempted to contact the original requestor of the item to ask if they would retract it.
I don't believe it's necessary to revisit the distress and drama that then resulted from the failure to do so.
I'd also like to suggest that the "lol bob" comment, the above, and the comments characterising the recent OGM as a "big win for UCC" (despite it being what most people would regard as a black eye on the club) seem to point to a pattern of subtle trolling, that I hope won't continue.
Regards,
Ben
