Good morning,

We at the Centre for Social Impact The University of Western Australia
(CSI UWA) are writing to you as you are the listed contact person for .
The CSI UWA is currently running the fourth annual iteration of its
Outcomes Measurement in the Community Sector Survey. The first two years
were focused on Western Australia, while this year’s and 2018’s take a
national view.

With this stream of research, funded by the Bankwest Foundation, we are
seeking to understand how and how much charitable and not-for-profit
organisations measure the difference they make, as well as the barriers
and challenges faced. We know that each and every organisation does what
it does in order to make a positive difference, and we feel passionately
about ensuring that that difference is measured and acknowledged.

*What do you want me to do?*
If you are willing and able, we would greatly appreciate it if you
clicked on the link below to complete the survey:
Take the Survey
<http://uwa.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9HqO7v0a7OlK8SN?Q_DL=a2EFCtV79lVQ4f3_9HqO7v0a7OlK8SN_MLRP_74aW6gbI57iBiSh&Q_CHL=email>

The survey will take approximately 45 minutes, and you can complete it
across multiple sessions, stopping and then picking up again where you
left off. It would be handy to have your organisation’s latest annual
report and/or financial statements on hand, along with its mission and
values statements, if applicable.

*What do you do with the data?*
We analyse the data and present it in publicly available form – note
that no individual organisation will ever be identified in any
presentation of results, and the data is not shared outside of the CSI
UWA. You can see previous reports here <http://apo.org.au/node/80730>.

Our previous work has had a significant impact to the WA community
sector in terms of increasing the understanding of outcomes measurement
practice in the community sector, sharpening the focus on measuring
outcomes, and influencing the setting of policy. From the understanding
we’ve gained about where the difficulties in outcomes measurement
practice lie for organisations on the ground, we have developed the
Outcomes Measurement course
<http://www.able.uwa.edu.au/centres/csi/research/professional-development-in-outcomes-measurement>.
We will be expanding these workshops this year to include optional
modules on evaluation and outcomes frameworks.

A report will be produced with both this year’s and last year’s survey
results (with previous years for comparison, where applicable). This
report will be launched at an event in early April in Perth, and a
prospective event in Sydney in mid-May.

*What if I can’t/don’t want to be part of this study?*
We fully understand that 45 minutes is a big ask and is just not
feasible for many, and that survey fatigue in modern society is very
real. We feel passionately about the research that we do, but if that
passion is not contagious, please Unsubscribe here.

*I have other questions*
Please contact Ami Seivwright ( ami.seivwright at uwa.edu.au
