Hi folks
Some quick late at night notes on the drawings:
1) If I've measured off the drawings I have corrected, the proposed room is smaller 36 m^2 (8.3 x 4.4m) than the current clubroom at 41 m^2 (5.4 * 7.5m) (dimensions only approximate)
2) Snack and Coke machines are now located inside the room consuming available floor space
3) Might be worthwhile exploring a "classroom" style layout for the workstations (4 rows of 3 workstations), assuming 1850 mm - a 650mm desk and clearance. This could work.
4) Standing workbench in it's current island configuration is going to be very difficult to service with power and network. A service pole would not be suitable, so floor would need to be chased potentially
5) Server Room - consider hanging the door so it swings outwards and doesn't foul the limited space inside the room
6) Server Room - arrangement not in line with earlier comments - oddball dimensions shown?
7) Server Room - rack size and working clearances nowhere near correct. Use 1150 by 920 as per rack size, allow minimum 900 clearance in front, 600 clearance at back and for circulation
8) Dimensions generally - a visit to existing UCC clubroom is probably needed to pick up correct dimensions of existing items (eg vending machines)
9) Space for services not show on drawings - existing tenancy fitouts have existing electrical DB/load centres in them, where are they to be located?
10) Both the Option 1s are probably heading in the right direction. Are there any options to use part of the space in what I remember to be a store south of the drawing (not shown) for the server room. May need to shuffle UCC/International Dept?
Mark

We are currently leaning towards the 1b design, with a common kitchen situated outside the ISD Room. Please also note that the ‘welfare’ space will in fact be Womens and we have asked all doorways to be altered to be made accessible.
