Hi all,
As a followup to the meeting earlier today, I'd like to thank everyone
for coming, especially despite the short notice.
For your reference I've set up an email alias on UCC's system,
club-collaboration at ucc.asn.au, which will automatically go through to
the addresses committee at ucc.asn.au, csscuwa0 at gmail.com,
hello at codersforcauses.org, dsc.uwa at gmail.com and uwapcs at gmail.com.
Please let me know if you want to change any of those.
Regarding event planning and advertising, please feel free to forward
any event details you have to the new alias so that club committees can
pass it onto members as appropriate per club. Probably a good way to
start would be to send a quick summary of any events your clubs are
planning to run this semester and we can go from there. (don't worry
about specifics if you don't have them yet)
For UCC - we're planning to host a number of one-off "tech talks" during
semester covering a range of interesting topics - more details later.
We'll hopefully also be part of the "Cameron Hall-oween" social event
(although that isn't computer related) and hoping to run a joint
computer club quiz night as well, later in semester. Lastly we'll try to
run some sort of study event in the leadup to exams, which may work out
being a joint event anyway.
From our discussion of a quiz night, I'd suggest we adopt the same
subcommittee regulations (or some derivation thereof) used for Cameron
Hall joint events -
https://github.com/gozzarda/subcommittee_regulations. The subcommittee
would consist of two representatives from each club (chosen by each
committee) and would be responsible for managing the event and dealing
with finances. If you're interested in collaborating for the quiz night
then it would be great if you can elect representatives and approve the
regulations in the next week or so, so that the subcommittee can get
started with planning the actual event.
Thanks again for your time today and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Felix von Perger
UCC President
