Hi Omar,

I’d like to arrange a meeting with you, myself as a representative of UniSFA, and some representatives from a few other Cameron Hall tenant clubs (UniGames, UCC, Panto, Uwanime, PCS) to talk about tenancy reallocations and accessibility. We have some questions and concerns regarding your email that we'd like to discuss with you and the decision making bodies.

It would also be great if we can discuss the card access to Cameron Hall while we’re meeting. The previous tenancy committee did not give much information about them, and we, again, have some questions and concerns.

When's a good time to meet?

Kind regards,

Katherine Scott,
UniSFA President

Dear Clubs and Societies,

Following joint discussions with the Guild - the University and Campus Management have acknowledged the long-standing issue of accessibility into Cameron Hall. More significantly, the University has committed to financing a feasibility study in order to ascertain the most practical solution to these mobility issues, and, how these can be effectively resolved in a manner that best suits students and relevant parties involved. Specifically, the University has indicated that the feasibility study will be taking place towards the end of Semester 1.

As these discussions coincide with forthcoming tenancy reallocations, the University has insisted that inherent accessibility issues be lucidly communicated to existing and future tenants. These findings by the University will impact the reallocation of Cameron Hall club spaces; moreover, the Guild is required to notify clubs that tenants in Cameron Hall impacted by accessibility issues may have their clubrooms moved to spaces that are more accessible. This is to ensure that students are not barred from participating fully in campus life.

The Guild is working with the university to address these issues as outlined. As part of this process, the tenancy allocations will take into consideration the mobility requirements of clubs and societies in Cameron Hall. We would encourage clubs that know they have student accessibility requirements to raise these matters with myself and we will work to find solutions that are suitable. The guild management team is working with myself and the Guild Tenancy committee to investigate all options.

Kind regards,

Omar Ali MacIntyre
Tenancy Chair
