Hi Jacob,
Thank you for your prompt reply!
I noticed a few things were reopening on campus, so I thought it was
worth checking - but your position is understandable, as campus has
still only partially reopened.
For now I'm not sure if there is much SOC can do to ease the burden, but
we look forward to any updates on the situation (hopefully!) in the near
future.

Hi Alexie,
I'm really sorry to hear that your club is having these difficulties.
This situation is unprecedented in nature and there is a sizeable amount
of clubs are facing financial difficulties. If UCC needs any kind of
assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
We are in close discussion with the University and Campus Management and
are hoping to reopen club spaces as soon as we can. Unfortunately, I
can't allow the reopening of Cameron Hall at this stage, even with
social distancing measures. Each club should have up to two people
authorised to access their clubrooms (from memory UCC nominated their
President and Vice President - I've cc'd them in this email so that
we're all on the same page). This is to ensure that clubs can manage
their assets and move property to and from the space. As soon as we are
in a position to reopen the campus, even partially, will let you know.
This decision was not made lightly and I completely empathise with UCC's
situation. Again, if there is anything else we can do to ease the burden
on your club during this time, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Kind regards,
Jacob Roosendaal

Subject: UCC Access
Good morning,
UCC is currently looking at membership renewals for the year compared to
last year, and we have noticed our club has already been significantly
impacted by COVID19 in terms of club revenue.
After UCC's AGM (which was held on March 13, just prior to lockdown), we
have had a significant loss in new memberships and renewals compared to
the same period in 2019. Although we have included in two emails to our
members that membership renewals are now months overdue, we are
concerned that people are choosing not to renew due to the fact they are
unable to access the assets of the club.
The clubroom holds all of the equipment that the club has invested in
and built over the past forty years, and access to the desktops there
(which host unique software and operating systems unavailable on library
computers) is a major draw card for memberships.
We are writing to ask whether we can re-open the clubroom (adhering to
necessary social distancing measures!) as soon as possible, as we need
to start locking accounts that have not renewed for 2020. The process of
membership renewals will likely be severely hindered if clubroom access
is still unavailable when that email goes out.
We understand all clubs have been affected; however our revenue is
incredibly important in maintaining and upgrading our equipment, and
membership uptake is largely based on the access to this equipment.
If you could please let us know what the current status is for clubroom
access in Cameron Hall, that will really help us work out what
information to include in our next email we send to our members.
Kind Regards,
