Dear Grace,
You can come to the first lecture at 9 am on Tuesday and introduce the club. It will be good if you can arrange some sessions for average students. We can discuss perhaps.
best,
Amitava

Dear Professor Amitava Datta,
I'm writing on behalf of the University Computer Club to ask for your assistance promoting awareness of our club to students in your class.
Should you be willing to: say a kind word about us, maybe include a slide in a lecture introducing us, or let us steal a few minutes of a lecture to introduce ourselves, we would be most appreciative.
We are keen to advertise the club to early CS students, as we suspect that many are unaware of what we offer — namely:
- In-clubroom hosting and computer resources, freely available for member use.
- A social space, equipped with desktops, that provides an environment to work amongst other like-minded CS students.
- A large set of real-world problems and projects from the club which can be used to gain experience contributing to computing projects.
Additionally, we run a series of semi-regular weekly tech talks over the semester on a variety of computing-related topics (for example, a 3-part *Getting Started with Linux* last semester).
To try to maximise how helpful we can be for students, we are curious if there are any topics in particular that you think would be useful for 1st/2nd year CS students to explore that aren't covered in 1st/2nd year courses?
Kind regards,
Grace Fowler
