Hi University Computer Club,
How would you like to be part of empowering students from all over Australia to achieve more?
After last year's success in Victoria and New South Wales, Microsoft is expanding the Microsoft Student Accelerator program Australia wide! We are extremely passionate to bring Microsoft technology to the hands of all students to bridge the gap between skills employers are seeking and the skills that students have.
For starters, here is a little about the MSA program when it was run last year and its success in New Zealand:
The Microsoft Student Accelerator program works with students and organisations to provide industry relevant training and give students the opportunity to put their skills to practice over the year. This is an opportunity for students to build experience outside of their study, get a competitive edge when they graduate, build connections with the industry, and start their career with innovation at its core. Last year, we trained over 2000 students in both Melbourne and New South Wales and helped students develop projects such as predicting highschool performance<https://github.com/olga-khab/msa-predicting-performance>, fake news detection<https://github.com/Mohnish226/Fake-News-Detection>, telemetry simulation<https://github.com/jonjau/msa2020-cloud-project>, among other amazing projects. On top of this, top students were also mentored by Microsoft professionals about career development and prepared for participation in the prestigious Microsoft Imagine Cup<https://imaginecup.microsoft.com/en-us/Events?id=0> as well.
In 2016, the MSA run in New Zealand helped over 80% of students to accelerate their careers and opportunities, and more than 20% of students received full time offers with their organisation. This year in Australia, we are focusing on continuing to develop students to become more prepared for the workplace with a possibility of work placements in the summer and furthering the vision of empowering students to reach higher heights using technology.
How can the program benefit your club and its members?
1. Your club and its members will get the chance to work with Microsoft people, partner companies and build a network.
2. You will be exposed to the wider student community in Australia who are equally passionate about Microsoft technology.
3. Top contributors may get a referral to Microsoft.
4. Volunteers can have meaningful say and impact on the content that is delivered to students.
5. Volunteers are also, in certain situations, able to participate in the MSA programme.
How your club can help us empower Australian students and club members through the program:
As a student club, you can bring the program to your members by advertising and posting about it on your relevant discussion forums and social media groups. This would mean posts in the form of updates, posters, and forms on platforms like Facebook or internal club websites. Microsoft will provide you with all the details and material so that you can make the program and its benefits accessible to your members! If this is something that your club would be interested in, please reply to this email, and we will inform you of the next steps and provide the promotional material.
Below, for your interest, we have attached a link to register to be a participant in the MSA program. Please note, this is simply a form to be a student and there is no criterion for who can participate (we want every student to be able to access knowledge and skills!).

Feel free to reply with any questions or clarifications.
Please reply to this email if this is something your club would be interested to collaborate on so we can follow up with next steps. For additional information on this year's MSA, please check out our handbook here: https://aka.ms/msahandbook2021
We hope to work with you to bring Microsoft technology to the hands of the future!
Kind regards,
MSA Australia Team
