Heya, John!
There's been talk about holding another Artemis LAN at the UCC. People
seem to be up for an event or two like that following a decent - though
COVID-affected! - intervarsity LAN event a couple of months ago.
We'll need a GM, and I thought you might have ideas, like to do it or at
least come along! Also, some practical setup in terms of making sure it
cleanly installs and runs on the clubroom machines and any extras people
bring along, on the night.
We were originally planning to run it on Saturday 2022-09-03, Uni week 6,
but that seems a bit tight and maybe we should focus on getting the
technical setup and testing done by then.
Just thinking about doing it in/around the clubroom and Loft, I think,
perhaps a remote ship at someone's house can join us, too.

UCC has a 1-ship license, I think.
Gotta focus on the basics, I guess, but I'm keen to have a go at some of
the alternatives sometime:
- Descent classic
- https://www.dxx-rebirth.com/
- Game and classic maps: https://www.gog.com/en/game/descent
- Classic 3D support, including anaglyphic?
- Overload "Descent 4"
- Modern VR support
- Part of the https://www.gog.com/en/game/overload sale (though not the best price ever yet!)
- even https://github.com/Tigerhacker/fractured-bootstrapper/releases (!)
- working! alive if you can get a team together to play on the community server
- I had a nice game with remote players during the June LAN
Nick.
