Hi all

I'm just passing on the following message from Ordinary Guild Councillor Luke Alderslade about the World's Greatest Shave taking place at UWA this semester.

Luke will also be joining us at the upcoming SOCPAC meeting on 27 April 2023 to speak about this event, and the ways that clubs can get involved.

Further reminders about this meeting, including the Teams link and agenda, will be distributed over the coming week or so, however if you already know that no one from your club will be able to attend please ensure you send apologies to me at soc-secretary at guild.uwa.edu.au no later than 5.00 pm on Wednesday 26 April 2023.

Thanks
Emma Watson

Dear Club Executives,

I hope you are well. My name is Luke Alderslade, and I am an OGC on this year’s Guild Council. Over the last few weeks, I have been working on a project that I think would be awesome for you and your FacSoc/club to be involved in. On Tuesday week 10 during Social Impact week, the Guild will be holding a World's Greatest Shave on Oak Lawn and we would love for you to partake.

The goal over the next couple of weeks is to raise $10,000 for the Leukemia Foundation for blood cancer research, treatments, and prevention. The event is open to the entire UWA student community, this includes student representatives, committees, FacSocs, Clubs, and individuals. The goal is to hold this event to empower all students to become involved in the event as it is for a good cause.

If you would like to get involved in the event there are a multitude of avenues for you to achieve this:
1. Donate to the Team - any donation (big or small) that you, your committee, or your club would like to make to the team overall would be a massive support.
2. Join the Team - the event is open to every UWA student, so if you would like to shave/cut/dye your hair you can join the team via the link below and create your own personal profile and monetary goal.
3. Promote the Event - you may not be able to donate or participate and that's completely fine, we would highly encourage you to promote the event via your socials and within your own club.

The link to the team is below, and there will be a Facebook event going up at the beginning of week 7, so make sure that you keep an eye out for that on the Guild socials.

I will be presenting at the SOC/PAC Meeting on 27th April, so if you have any questions or queries please don't hesitate to contact me at luke.alderslade23 at guild.uwa.edu.au (mailto:luke.alderslade23 at guild.uwa.edu.au) or 0472662008.
