Hope you're doing well!
My name is Gayatri, and I currently work as a lab facilitator in the School of Physics, Mathematics & Computing (PMC) at UWA. We met today at the UWA Guild Club Carnival. I'm excited to share that I've recently been selected as UWA's Pawsey Champion<https://pawsey.org.au/meet-the-pawsey-champions/> for the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre!<https://pawsey.org.au/> <https://pawsey.org.au/> :)
Pawsey plays a key role in supporting Australian research through its supercomputing, data, cloud, and visualisation services. The Pawsey Champions Program aims to raise awareness of these resources, foster collaboration, and gather insights from the research community.
As UWA’s Champion, I act as a direct point of contact between Pawsey and our university community. You’re welcome to reach out to me with:
- Feedback or insights on Pawsey’s systems and services
- Requests for training or education in HPC and related tools
- Suggestions on future infrastructure needs for your research

The Pawsey Summer Internship Program<https://pawsey.org.au/supercomputing/training/pawsey-internships-call-for-students/> is now open for applications! It is a 10-week paid opportunity running from late November 2025 to mid-February 2026, where you will work on a project in fields like health, AI, or quantum computing. You will gain hands-on experience in supercomputing, data science, and research communication. You will collaborate with national and international experts and present your work in a final video, poster, and report. All while getting paid and supported by mentors who want to see you succeed!
