<div>Hello everyone,</div><div><br></div><div>I was an attendee at the recent meeting between UCC and CSSC.</div><div>Bob has asked me to write out a summary of the meetings happenings to share with you all.</div><div><br>
</div><div>For those who don't know, custardrum, CSSC's VM hosted on UCC's servers, was turned off last Friday. This was after a deadline was reached in an email sent by the UCC committee informing CSSC that the server had been left unpaid and unassociated with a member.</div>
<div><br></div><div>We were contacted by Raphael, after they discovered it had been turned off, as neither of the email addresses that the email was sent to work.</div><div><br></div><div>Attending for UCC were Bob and I.</div>
<div>Attending for CSSC were the Raphael (President), Tyler (Secretary), Ash (Social VP).</div><div><br></div><div>Bob's main point was that the UCC/CSSC relationship had turned toxic. What could have initially started off as friendly rivalvy has progressed to a point where there is an unacceptable level of demonisation of the counter club within each club's membership.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Bob cited examples regarding a blog post about CSSC's participation in the Easter LAN, and issues with a CSSC executive member badmouthing UCC to ComSSA before either club could actually meet.</div>
<div><br></div><div>CSSC agreed that while such instances were unacceptable (and they would and will continue to take action on them), they noted that they could not and would not police their member's opinions.</div>
<div><br></div><div>In regards to the blog post, CSSC did remove the post after hearing complaints. They will also be talking to the executive member involved in the ComSSA incident, as his behaviour was deemed unacceptable.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Two options were presented to CSSC in how to move forward; we could</div><div> 1) Stop the inter-club trolling, or</div><div> 2) Sever ties completely.</div><div><br></div><div>CSSC agreed that option 1 was is everyone's best interests, and suggested that to help achieve those aims, more co-organised and co-hosted events between the clubs should be persued.</div>
<div><br></div><div>In regards to custardrum, a $25/yr hosting option was offered. CSSC said they would consider it, but they were already in the process of re-evaluating their hosting options when custardrum was shut down. In the interim, custardrum has been reactivated.</div>
