I'm not sure if that's enough people to make this work. :/<br><br>Our club has also been talking about making our usual Bi-Annual MegaLAN a multi-club LAN - while we've invited UCC members and non-uni people (mostly from OzHadou, a local fighting game group) before, it's always been a LAN that we hosted and others were invited to, rather than truly involving other clubs.<br>
<br>We usually get about 40-60 people, and still have plenty of room and cabling to spare. There's soda and chips available for purchase, and around dinner we organize a pizza run (attendees come up to the front to pick pizzas and pay for them, and we then place a bulk order through Domino's). We have several tournaments through the night, including Starcraft 2 and Bishi-Bashi - as well as what people set up among themselves. The LAN runs from about 10am Saturday to 10am Sunday, although not everyone stays overnight. If ComSSA and UCC have any additions they'd like to make, we can incorporate that in with little-to-no trouble.<br>
<br>I don't have the room booked as of yet (should be able to accomplish that by the end of next week) but the likely date would be Saturday the 20th until Sunday the 21st of April, with Friday booked for setup. I can almost guarantee I'll get those dates, but of course nothing's 100% until the booking's confirmed with our Campus Support Office.<br>
<br>Would ComSSA be more interested in that? How about UCC?<br>CASSA and UCC already have such a great working and friendly relationship, I'd really like it if we could extend that to ComSSA :)<br>

In events like this, CASSA usually just does a straight pizza buy. Usually it's 1pizza:3people, so saying we have about 20 people show up, that's 6 pizzas. We can often get a coupon from retailmenot that makes a Domino's (they're right near our ML campus) Traditional pizza about $8 pickup (we get a member to pick them up) so say 50 bucks.<br>
<br>This event is also supposed to be a tester of how we'd go about ordering non-pizza food. <a href="http://www.subway.com.au/info/our_menu/catering/" target="_blank">Subway's platters</a> (go through and pick a Perth one, it'll definitely have online ordering) look pretty reasonably priced. The location I looked at (it says they're franchises so the prices could change, but I doubt they'll change much) charges $40 for 15 portions, and $25 for a plate of 36 cookies. <b>40/15= 2.65 pp.</b><br>
<a href="http://www.nandos.com.au/catering" target="_blank">Nando's</a> is pricier than the others. Their boardroom platter is $133. But, while it says it only feeds 10 people, I think that's more if you're treating it like a meal and not party food. It looks like it'd cover more like 20-30 people. <b>133/25=$5.30 pp.</b> <a href="http://www.nandos.com.au/catering/pickup/custom" target="_blank">Custom packages</a> are also available, and might be a better option - those chicken tenders and bites are nice, but a bit messy for eating near controllers.<br>
If we were to get sushi, the only place I can think of nearby is<a href="http://www.takaskitchen.iinet.net.au/party.htm" target="_blank"> Taka's Kitchen</a> in Perth. They do party platters, but annoyingly they don't have prices. Derp. I think a price of ~$50 and up per platter can be assumed; that seems to be the going rate. I couldn't work out a per-person cost until I actually knew the cost, though I doubt it'd be more expensive than Nando's.<br>
<br><b>TL;DR</b> we can spend very little per person and still get some nice stuff. Looks like even if we get Nando's, it should still easily fit under $10 per person.<br><br><br>CASSA has a PS3 and I think one or two other consoles - a PS2 and a dreamcast, I think??? Not sure. We can occasionally get members to bring their consoles, but that would be subject to who's attending. If UCC gets in on this, they have a bunch of PCs, and again their members might loan a couple consoles. Worst case, I've got a US 360 and Wii I can set up; I've got a couple LEGO games for the 360 and NSMB for the Wii, but that's pretty much it for Multiplayer games.<br>
Anyway, games are a feature, not a focus of this event. As long as we have a few games going, it should be fine.<br><br>Subject to key members' timetables, this feels to me like a Saturday afternoon, 4PM-9PM-ish event. More in the sense of starting around dinner time, and ending in the evening but not so late that people without cars (or with Sunday obligations) have to worry.<br>

(Those who <i>do </i>know me might know me as Eskilla.)<br><br>Yesterday in IRC, discussion with spartan and tpg of UCC resulted in the idea of a party hosted by both of our clubs sometime next month. We'd probably hold it at UCC's clubroom as theirs is actually big enough to call it a room - CASSA's is more like a clubcloset*. We could order some catering - pizza, subway platters, and nando's platters were discussed, but pretty much every fast food place does catering at this point - and pre-pay it out of our club funds. Attendees could pay a set fee (about $8 should cover it) to reimburse the clubs. I figure as long as we have good, solid RSVP numbers, we should be able to do this.<br>
<br>UCC has plenty of computers, so you guys could provide the PC games - perhaps even set up a Artemis ship for walk-up/drop out play. CASSA has a PS3 to offer, and I'm sure between our memberships we could hustle up a couple more consoles. Not sure what COMSSA has.<br>
<br>Food+Games+a music system=awesome fun times.<br><br>We'll want to make sure that we have the right amount of food and games for attendees (and in this, my main concern would be buying too <i>much</i> food and bringing <i>more</i> consoles then we need, resulting in extra work). I think the first order of business on the Mixer would be each club determining who's likely to show up to a party <b>with a small entry fee</b> (as that can change likely numbers). Ask around, do a poll, request emails - whatever you think will work best with your individual club, but please impress upon members that we need reliable attendance numbers to plan this for maximum awesomeness.<br>
