I don't agree.

- I think computer science deserves to be expressly acknowledged, having regard to the club's history and membership.

- I'm not a big fan of the phrase "computer science and technologies", but it arguably means "computer science and computer technologies".

- I think "computerized technologies" is even more vague (and a misspelling in Australian English).

Hi all.
While we are changing the constitution,
I suggest we also change the Objects of the club,
to more accurately and clearly reflect our focus.

Current:

The objects of the Club shall be as follows:

To be an organised association of students attending The
University of Western Australia, and supporters, for the
advancement of computer science and technologies, both at the
University and in the broader community.

Advancing computer science and technologies isn't was we do.
We also use them.

Also computer science is generally taken to be a incredibly narrow
field with in the greater clould of IT/IS/Software Eng/Sys
admin/DBA. etc.
Computer science is more closely related to pure math, than it is to
real most world programming tasks.
CS is a narrow subset of what we do.

Conversely technologies is much broader than what we do.
While it includes things like coke machine,
it also includes things like Cars, and trains.

I feel much better wording would be:

The objects of the Club shall be as follows:

To be an organised association of students attending The
University of Western Australia, and supporters, to promote
the advancement and use of computerized technologies, both at
the University and in the broader community.

I think that is much clearer.
