Just thought I'd chime in on this thread and this looks like the
head, so here is as good a place as any.

It is certainly important that anyone whose expulsion is being
proposed gets the chance to defend themselves against any action.
Legal requirements aside, it is the fair thing to do. For that
reason, if the motion is raised at the meeting, I will be moving
to postpone it until Melissa arrives. From talking to her, it
should be around 6:15 pm or earlier.

I urge those in attendance to support this motion.
It is important that a motion of expulsion is valid under the WA
associations law. A layman's explanation of what i'm talking

If Melissa has done something worthy of expulsion, it is
important that the legal processes are followed to avoid the
club being dragged into an expensive & embarrassing hearing
at the State Administrative Tribunal; which she would be able to
do at little expense to herself. This would be a big waste of
club resources.

TLDR: If expulsion is warranted, do it properly to avoid the

A member of the club felt that this

members have a right to add items that
they wish to be discussed to the agenda,

Item 2 comes up under the
constitution in section 21.1: 21.
Cancellation of Membership 1. The Club
may cancel the membership of any member

acted in a manner contrary to the best
interests of the Club.

Personally, I believe that discussing
this at a general meeting rather than a
committee one would be better for
ensuring that the discussion would be
more inclusive of the diverse opinions
of the club members and enable the club
to make a decision without the committee
