Hi all,

Unfortunately the meeting for tonight won't be going ahead due to
a lack of quorum. I'll check in with the rest of committee to see
the best time now that we're back in semester, but until then
expect them to continue next week at the same time.

I'll be around this evening if there's anything about the club
anyone wants to discuss.

Cheers,

James [MPT]
UCC President
Committee Reports
=================
## President's Report
## Vice President's Report
### Met with Luke (Pres of Curtain CompSci club)
- He seems nice
- Became pres a few months ago, will be till end of year
- Luke & VP are the driving force of their committee
- I described UCC as:
- Medium-large clubroom with two rows of desktops
- Lots of people use this for gaming, and this is the primary association for
lots of people
- We also have two racks of servers — this is what I care about
- We also have a lot of long-term (>decade) members who provide a lot of
technical know-how
- Luke described the Curtain club as being a bit different
- Smaller
- Bit different, social club + accademic help
- Ran a bunch of small porely attended events last year, want to do things a
bit differently this year
- Don't have a strong tech side, but keen to work with UWA on that side
- A slightly philosophical conversation
- Luke now at curtain, was at UWA at one point, and has interacted a bunch
with CompSci students over east
- Uni courses not that great at actually teaching useful skills, and there’s a
lot that one best learns by oneself
- So, CompSci students can particularly benefit from getting to know each other
- Hence, club colaboration is good
- We both like the idea of colaborative events, with the aim of introducing
UWA/Curtain students to each other
- Working out good events is hard
- Working out good events *which people whill actually turn up to* is harder
- Re: actually getting people to interact with each other, perhaps some sort of
event involving group colaboration (e.g. \*-athon) could be a good idea? Not sure.
- Luke mostly interested in social/industry event collaborations
- Both like the general idea of doing *something* will meet again mid-march.
