Hi all,

As some of you might be aware, all Guild clubroom tenants are
subjected to a three-yearly "full reallocation" process where they
are made to reapply for their clubrooms. This occurred earlier
this year, and UCC submitted its application in due course.

It was announced late today that UCC's application was
considered unsuccessful, and we wouldn't be having our tenancy
renewed. Additionally, Unigames and UniSFA have received
notice that they are being reallocated to share a room somewhere
in Cameron Hall.

See attached for the full letter/justification from Tenancy.
We're currently trying to arrange a meeting with Omar/Tenancy to
discuss and come to a better understanding as to why they came to
the conclusions they did in the letter. We're also planning
several lines of review, including on both substantive and
procedural grounds.

There's no real way to put this other than it sucks big time,
even in the case that a dragged-out appeals process finds in our
favour. We're going to need to work together as a committee, a
club and between all the clubs affected by this decision to reach
any sort of favourable outcome.

Additionally, Wheel and everyone else interested in the running
of the club's infrastructure is going to have to work together to
plan for various contingencies, up to and including having to move
it all away from the University.

There's a lot of work to be done. I probably haven't covered
everything, but I thought this email needed to be sent sooner
rather than later, considering the news is already all over
Cameron Hall and that will need discussion at the AGM. We'll try
to keep you all updated as things unfold.

Yours,

James Arcus
UCC President
