I'd like to make a complaint about the conversation that occurred in the discord on 16/1/25. </div>

Firstly, as I said at the time--I think Ben's original message was inappropriate for a club space, especially for someone with a role of power within the club (wheel).<br>

More egregiously, I feel Bob's conduct in the following conversation was even more inappropriate--it was upsetting to see a Wheel member argue so hard to be allowed to use a slur. Making strawman arguments and ignoring the contents of what people were saying

 to instead insult other members' abilities to read and count (all in defence of a slur) is the kind of behaviour that makes me feel unsafe within the club and uncomfortable with engaging with anyone involved. I'm disappointed that the conversation wasn't shut

 down by committee much sooner, and that it seemed to be taken as a discussion more than an incident requiring moderation. I also felt it was inappropriate in the context of a slur being used for other members (tpg, elton) to give examples of when it is a genuine

 use case for the word--if someone said fag (derogatory) and got called out for it, I don't think it would be appropriate for anyone to repeat the word in the context of cigarettes or sticks in the immediate aftermath to show how it isn't Really a slur.</div>
