Connecting to dropbear using SSH secure shell

I am running dropbear v0.44test3 which was included as
part of an OpenWRT based cable router. 

I cannot seem to connect to it using the SSH client
from ssh.com.  I can successfully connect using
OpenSSH, but not any version of the commercial SSH. 
I'm currently using SSH 3.2.9.1.  When I attempt to
connect, I do not get a password prompt or anything. 
It just seems to hang.

How do I overcome this problem?
