Hi Pratik,

It seems like ttys are broken somehow. Could you try the following:

At a prompt:
read testvar < /dev/tty
somethinghere         (then press enter)

echo $testvar

It should print "somethinghere".

How are you getting a shell on the system - Dropbear or
serial console or something else?
