Hi all,

Hope Guild Elections haven't driven you crazy yet!

==== Online Leader Board ====

As promised, an online leader board is being developed, and you can
submit your agents and see how they go!

The leader board is at
<http://progcomp.ucc.asn.au/media/results.html>. It's divided up into
(presently) 6 categories: Open, C, Python, UCC member, First year
students and C programming students.

Yes, it looks ugly now, but it will get prettier/more useful! If you
have some web skills and would like to help, please get in touch!

==== Submitting your own agent to the leader board ====

If you want to get your agent on the leader board:
 * Write one!
 * Email it to progcomp-organiser at ucc.asn.au. Include your preferred
name (which will be displayed next to your agent on the leader board.)
 * List whether any of the following apply to you:
    - UCC member
    - First year student
    - C Programming (CITS1210) student

I will then place your agent into the judging system, after checking
your code to make sure you're not doing anything nefarious.

Judging runs are presently done hourly, so check back frequently.

==== Timeline ====
THIS IS IMPORTANT

Final submissions will be due 5pm Tuesday of the last week of semester
(26 October). All going well, results will be out on the last Thursday
(28 October), and you can collect your impressive and wonderful prizes
(which I still have to organise.)

The final submission system will be announced closer to the date.

==== MATLAB and Java ====
A Matlab environment will be out soonish. However, Java is presenting
some difficulties --- I don't know Java and the people I know who know
Java are feeling the crushing pressure of their own uni commitments.
So if you are moderately competent at Java and want to help out,
please let me know.

==== Misc ====

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know on
progcomp-organiser at ucc.asn.au. (If you have submitted a question, my
apologies for being tardy in replying!)

Best regards,
Daniel Axtens
