The final rounds occur next Monday, 14th May. They are weighted by 80%, so anyone can win! Anyone who helped with the manager program will be awarded one extra point. This includes everyone now competing, plus Daniel Axtens, if he ends up entering. I had resolved a bug in the manager program. However, I forgot to recompile it. The INTERNAL_ERROR results should not appear in the final rounds. Good luck! When an AI segfaulted, the manager program interpreted it as an illegal move. However, it then tried to send an illegal move message to the AI. This reulted in SIGPIPE. This bug shoul now be fixed* INTERNAL_ERROR awards both AI zero points. In the interest of fairness, I will re-run all games with this outcome next Saturday. If your AI was involved in these games, I suggest you double check your code. Thanks, [SZM] PS: If you don't want to recieve updates like this, unsubscribe. I am much more verbose than [DJA]. Unfortunately the simulation script restricts rounds to an even number of games, so some extra games have been played. The last three rounds will be weighted by 0.8, and will commence on Monday at 6:00pm. Please email any submissions to matches@ Results are, as always, available at http://progcomp.ucc.asn.au/results Good luck! I forgot to weight the scores properly. However, this would not have affected the overall placings, so I will not redo the rounds. Congratulations to Peter N Lewis, who has won with 21.4 points. His MacTech 1997 stratego AI has stood the test of time to defeat all competitors once again. Peter has won the 50th anniversary edition of Stratego, published by SpinMaster. I'm pretty sure Peter's program is an early version of skynet, so well done to the other contestants for putting up an admirable resistance! Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me and/or helped me to run this competition. Also thanks to those who have entered. I guess most of you are the same people, but you can be thanked twice if you want. Sadly I will not be running another competition. I encourage anyone with a cool idea to run the next progcomp; contact committee or wheel for more information on how to do this. There is also a wiki page somewhere. http://progcomp.ucc.asn.au/results So long, Sam Moore
