This is meant to compliment the mailing lists. I don't know if you've noticed, but mailing lists are aging, badly and they won't help bring in new members.

The forums were put up early so people would be aware of them, already there are a few legitimate questions being asked here by members asking for help. But next year, when we have a new influx of freshers, its hoped that they'll post questions here looking for help and maybe you, and everyone else, will provide that.

Its got those threads because the internet will always have retards, in any form but if its contained outside of the actual help threads it will make it less obvious.

This place is needed so the old guard you always claim they have the best interests of the club at heart can help us educate the next few batches that come through, as I doubt many of you frequent the CSHelp forums much. The knowledge of real-world applications of the things learned here at uni will help cement UCC's relevance in their minds and keep them coming back to help others alike.
