vimotd is working again - previously it wasn't getting very far with
mermaid due to some clever person putting a linebreak in the appropiate
/etc/inetd.conf line.

Any Committee member or root can edit the message of the day on mermaid,
mussel, moray, beige and starfish simultaneously.
