We discussed buying one machine first and having it boot all the
aforementioned OSses to see how much it gets used and what it gets used for.
Then we can decide what other sorts of machines we should get.

I'm going to be buying a Hoontech Trident based sound card real soon now
and I would like the UCC's new machines to have them. The have 4 audio
outs + 2 in + midi + optical (I think) digital spdif output (and possibly
input) and cost US$39. I might donate one if I'm feeling rich, alternatively
we should buy one - because Trident write GPLed ALSA drivers and have been
doing so for a year or so.

Do we need speakers? We can integrate it into the DavTronics Amp.

I would like to play with dual head. XFree86 4.0 will support Xinerama,
and it would be cool to work on development for this. I'm sure Leighton can
fill us in on the status of dual head support for GGI. Its only and extra
$100 for an ultra cool feature (yeah, I know macs have been doing it since
the 1980s).
