FWIW, we (the UCC, or at least several of the members thereof) pretty
much have a standing offer to help in any way we can - technical, labour
or to at least some extent financial. I'm certain we'd be happy to pay
our way towards media converters and pulling through a fibre even it
cost a little more upfront than cat5. For at least the GCL to the
rest of the backbone run, I imagine fibre would be pretty sensible...
