This is true - it was a problem in a previous incarnation of mermaid,
too, but I don't know how it was fixed. It's not something I've ever
heard of on a normal Debian install, just these ones. ::-)

Today, though, there was also another problem - mussel wouldn't bind to
NIS. What fixed it, exactly?
