The expression 'GPO', which was in such wide-spread use that it often
got confused with 'Gun Plot Officer' or 'General Post Office' in the
context of AS/NZS 3112 three-flat-pin 10A sockets, has been superceded
around here by less general term 'SO', meaning 'Sales Order', 'Security
Officer', 'Significant Other', 'Shared Object' and 'Serial Output'. And
'Socket Outlet', too.
PS. Okay, maybe there's good reason for this (like the standards
changed recently, or even not so recently). Fryers?
