[tech] gcc on morwong

Hi guys

I'm compiling gcc-3.2 on morwong. It looks like it 
might build.

We have lots of gunk in /usr/local; what can we do 
about this? Does base Tru64 put anything in there?
Could we just rm -rf /usr/local and start again, 
having taken a good look at what is there?

We're running into problems with things not linking 
due to libc changes and old libraries lying around.
